Good lord they even admit it

ok, somehow this conservative newsletter got my email address, and they've been sending me stuff for the past year or so. I just got a newsletter with an advertisement that shows strong evidence that today's conservative elites are not interested in thinking:

"If you are looking for a one-stop source for books that counter 'mainstream' liberal orthodoxy, you've found it. If you are looking for books that affirm your beliefs, your principles, your core values, you need look no further.

If you want books that tell the truth, political correctness be damned, the Conservative Book Club is the place for you. Come join us today -- starting with 3 books for $1.00 each!"

See that? The marketing technique is to tell conservatives that these books "affirm [their] beliefs... principles... [and] core values"—that these books agree with them.

What's worse is that that is the only selling point (aside from price). There isn't any mention of persuasiveness or style in the writings... just that these books agree with conservative readers.

Our conservative leaders are interested only in hearing what they've already heard.
